A few months ago, my mother suffered a massive heart attack. She lived for two more days, and during that time I was gifted precious moments by her side in the hospital. About half an hour before she died, she told my sister, my daughter, and me that a “magic door” had appeared and that a beautiful woman was there for her. I believe she was sensing the passage that would carry her to the other side and perhaps recognizing a guide who had come to accompany her.
Unexplained Electrical Signs After Her Death
In the weeks following her death, unusual things began to happen.
One day, while I was at her place, her printer suddenly turned on and printed two photos of her, the very images we had chosen for her funeral service. A week later, I walked into the condo empty and quiet, and within minutes her dishwasher turned itself on.
Another time, my sister, my niece, and I stood beside my mother’s car as the door locks repeatedly clicked open and closed, even though no one was touching the car or the key fob.
On that same day, after saying goodbye to them, I walked into the underground parking garage. As I passed a parked car, its taillights flashed and the horn beeped. I stopped, expecting someone to appear with a key fob, but no one was there. I was completely alone.
In that moment, I felt certain my mother was trying to get my attention.
I asked out loud, “Mom, is this you?”
The lights flashed again, and the car beeped.
“If this * is* you,” I said, “you’re very good at manipulating electricity.”
More lights. More beeps.
“Well, Mom… you have my attention now.”
The car responded again, almost playfully.
A warmth washed over me. It felt like her, her energy, her presence, her love. I told her I loved her, thanked her for checking in on me, and assured her that even though I missed her deeply, I was doing alright. I also told her that we would be okay, and that she didn’t need to worry.
And just like that, I felt a softening, as if she were saying goodbye for now. Still watching. Still connected. Still Mom, but in a different form.
How Spirits Use Electrical Energy to Communicate
In the spiritual regression work that I do, I am aware that those who pass often communicate through the manipulation of electricity. The energetic frequency of spirit can interact with electrical currents because spiritual energy and electrical energy are very similar in vibration. It takes far less energy for spirit to influence electrical equipment than it does to move physical objects, making it a common and gentle way to say, “I’m here.”
Many years ago, long before I began working with spiritual regression, I asked my mother, “What do you think happens after we die?” Her response was simple: “I don’t know, but please find out and let me know what you discover.” Looking back, I believe my mom was planting a seed, wanting me to seek that understanding.
I was deeply moved that my mom’s spirit reached out after her death. It is profoundly comforting to have tangible signs that the soul lives on. Moments like this confirm that love does not end with death; it simply changes form. When we quiet our hearts, we may sense those who have gone before us reaching back in subtle, familiar ways, offering reassurance, connection, and the enduring comfort of love beyond time and space.
